Founded in 2002 by the designer Oki Sato, the Japanese design team Nendo ("clay", in Japanese) comprises 15 Tokyo-based designers. Over the past decade Nendo has participated in many major international exhibitions. Its designs are exhibited in numerous museums including the Museum of Modern Art, the Museum of Arts and Design and the Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum in New York, the Museum of Decorative Arts and the Pompidou Centre, as well as the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, the Design Museum Holon and the Triennale Design Museum in Milan.
