Banc d’essai: European Canteen

The Canteen is temporary furniture in kit form intended for social events: sharing a large public table. The Canteen consists of simple, modular tables that can be set up in a thousand ways to create a public canteen in a park, or to accompany a food truck during the lunch break. Their ultra-simple assembly (4 screws per table, less than 30 minutes to assemble a table for 50 people) makes it possible to imagine layouts adapted to different events in a neighbourhood and their installation by local residents themselves, different players in city life, voluntary organisations... The ability to create a "social event" lies in simplicity of use of The Canteen, but also in each person's capacity to appropriate it.
