Banc d’essai: Kyoto

In 2000, Area and designer Sovann Kim worked on their first joint project, which resulted in the Kobe range. The Kyoto bench, their latest creation, is the continuation of the Toulouse-based company's approach. Positioning itself at the heart of a resolutely contemporary vision of the public space, its approach has not been to design yet another bench, but to examine the way we "take up a position" in the city and in public spaces. The object becomes a rest area, at once intimate and open to the city.
