Laure Jaffuel
"Working on a joint event-based project is a great way for a company and a designer to come together. Laure Jaffuel's artwork explores the concept of elevation. It features automated industrial movement and the specific expertise of the Haulotte company."
All the way up there, Get High acts like a sign, an invitation, a gathering point, a rendez-vous. Transcending its own practical function, Haulotte's machine becomes a physical and symbolic extension of Humankind. The cherry picker has been programmed to move according to a pre-conceived plan, and the installation unfolds like an event suddenly emerging in a specific space and time; it is 'self-displaying'. Laure Jaffuel invites the visitor to question the power of industry to multiply human capacities; Man becomes 'Superman', with automated mechanical movement, the tool of his performance.
