ESADSE - RONDINO
Following different exchanges with children and a psychologist who works mainly with disabled children, we chose to work on a play area that would leave plenty of room for imagination in play.
To do this, we took as our starting point the abacus game, much appreciated by autistic children. This version of the game on a much larger scale enables children to create their own route around three different modules. Each of these modules is of a different size, to make it accessible to all, but also so that children have the chance to develop their motor skills and agility by moving on from a game they have mastered to another one that is more complicated for them.
The structures of the different parts enable them to be arranged to create a space that a child can integrate fully, with which he or she can interact alone or with other children. Two versions of the complete game are presented here. The first provides children with a route they can appropriate if they wish, while the second is an arrangement where the games include certain zones that are split into two so that there are different ways of apprehending them, such as for example a part where one side serves as a ladder while the other forms a slide.
