Teaser... or not teaser

The six main Biennale exhibitions this year will have an echo in Saint-Etienne city centre: ESADSE students will be devising teasers for these exhibitions, which will be placed in closed down shops and business premises in the city's shopping streets. This will be a chance for them to reflect on what the meaning of the teaser - a word borrowed from the cinema world -, attempting to go beyond the purely marketing and commercial function and anchor it firmly in the world of the exhibition. The teaser must be a "work in itself" and will be designed as an autonomous piece, serving as both preamble and prologue to a given exhibition.
