Utopian Benches – We sit together
The exhibition consists of identical reproductions of benches from European community-based societies. For Francis Cape, benches "oppose individualism with communalism" and extol values that are different to the dominant individualistic materialism.
This exhibition is the result of a 2-year long research project conducted with the students on the Exhibition Design masters course at ENSBA Lyon (Nivine Chaikhoun, Gwendoline Dos Santos, Camille Drai, Sarah Dulac, Roxane Esperon, Serena Evely, Jonathan Mahistre, Claire Laborde, Guillaume Ladavière, Clara Levieuge, Mélissa Mariller, Olivier Milis, Adrien Rocca). It is co-produced with the Familistère de Guise and the FRAC Franche-Comté.
